Film Production Services in Hungary

Family Film provides full production services in Hungary from our Budapest office, line-producing international features, television series, documentaries and short films. (Hungary's incentive covers feature, episodic, documentary and short-film formats — it does not cover commercials; for commercial rebates we point producers to Serbia & Montenegro.)

Hungary pays a 30% cash rebate on qualifying spend — and because up to 25% of that qualifying spend can be non-Hungarian (above-the-line and other foreign costs), the effective rebate reaches up to 37.5% of your Hungarian spend. No stated cap; extended through 2030. We manage the cultural test, registration and subsidy filing.

Budapest has hosted Hollywood productions for over 30 years. Mafilm is the country's largest studio complex, art-department depth is exceptional, and the city doubles for Paris, Berlin, Moscow and period Vienna. Crew rates run 40–55% of UK equivalents.
