Film Production Services in Hungary
Family Film is a production company in Budapest providing full production services across Hungary, where our line producers run international features, television series, documentaries and short films. (Hungary's incentive covers feature, episodic, documentary and short-film formats; it does not cover commercials; for commercial rebates we point producers to Serbia & Montenegro.)
Hungary pays a 30% cash rebate on qualifying spend, and because up to 25% of that qualifying spend can be non-Hungarian (above-the-line and other foreign costs), the effective rebate reaches up to 37.5% of your Hungarian spend. No stated cap; extended through 2030. We manage the cultural test, registration and subsidy filing.
Budapest has hosted Hollywood productions for over 30 years. Mafilm is the country's largest studio complex, art-department depth is exceptional, and the city doubles for Paris, Berlin, Moscow and period Vienna. Crew rates run 40–55% of UK equivalents.
