Films and series
Long-form is where the regional incentives are strongest. Neither Romania nor Hungary rebates commercials, so a feature or series carries a materially better incentive position than an advert shot in the same country. The formats each scheme covers are listed below.
- Romania: 30% cash rebate on feature film, documentary, short film. Minimum qualifying spend €15,000 for a short film, €100,000 for a feature, capped at €10M per project per year.
- Hungary: Up to 37.5% cash rebate on feature film, TV series, documentary, short film. No stated minimum spend and no cap.
- Serbia: Up to 30% cash rebate on feature film, TV series, documentary. Minimum qualifying spend €300,000 for feature and TV work, no cap.
- Montenegro: a flat 25% cash rebate on feature, TV and documentary work, handled by the same team as Serbia.
We handle the cultural test, registration, expenditure tracking and the subsidy filing, so the rebate arrives as a direct cash transfer to the production entity. See the full country-by-country incentive comparison.
